چکیده

Organic agriculture has been growing in recent years; however, one of the limitations this area is treatment seeds with natural products and less aggressive to environment. Seed biopriming brown seaweed extract can be used improve physiological quality seeds. This study aimed evaluate effect seed Ascophyllum nodosum extracts (algae) on pepper tomato quality. Pepper All Big Alegria cultivars (cvs), Cereja Rio Grande cvs were used. The concentrations 0, 125, 250, 375 ppm. A completely randomized design a 2×4 factorial scheme was variables analyzed percentage germination; germination speed index; root shoot length; dry weight. Sweet at 125 ppm enhanced 16.5% for cv; but it did not benefit cv. A. as provided an increase 50% length growth although, had negative seedlings cv Tomato ppm, by 38 31% Nevertheless, provide higher levels germination. For cv, benefited approximately 1.04 cm larger than control. priming depended its concentration cultivar given that, different responses obtained, also due compounds extract.

The brown alga Ascophyllum nodosum contains two different vanadium bromoperoxidases.

Haloperoxidases have been detected in a variety of organisms, including bacteria, fungi, algae, and mammals. Mammalian haloperoxidases are known to be directly involved in the oxidative destruction of microorganisms. The algal bromoperoxidases are probably involved in the biosynthesis of bromometabolites, most of which show considerable bactericidal activity. From the brown seaweed Ascophyllum ...

Utilization of Waste Wool as Substrate Amendment in Pot Cultivation of Tomato, Sweet Pepper, and Eggplant

Sheep wool can be a waste products of sheep husbandry. Its safe utilization evokes several serious problems. Therefore, it was of interest to check out the usefulness of wool as a fertilizer and/or substrate. The aim of the experiments reported in this paper was to evaluate the effect of the washed sheep wool used as an amendment to peat-based growing substrate on growth and yield of tomato, sw...

Growth, yield index, and photosynthesis traits of sweet pepper grown in vermicompost inoculated with Arbuscular mycorrhiza

ABSTRACT- The aim of this study was to investigate the effects of “Arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi” (AM fungi) density and different growing media on the growth, photosynthesis parameters and yield of sweet pepper under greenhouse conditions. The experiment was conducted as a factorial plan based on control randomized design (CR...

Proximate Composition and Nutritional Value of Three Macroalgae: Ascophyllum nodosum, Fucus vesiculosus and Bifurcaria bifurcata

Proximate composition (moisture, protein, lipid and ash content) and nutritional value (fatty acid, amino acid and mineral profile) of three macroalgae (Ascophyllum nodosum, Fucus vesiculosus and Bifurcaria bifurcate) were studied. Chemical composition was significantly (p < 0.001) different among the three seaweeds. In this regard, the B. bifurcata presented the highest fat content (6.54% of d...
